Matt Morgan undergoes medical checks ahead of Virtus Bologna’s Belgrade road trip
Virtus Bologna were without Matt Morgan in the Derby d’Italia loss to Olimpia Milano at the Unipol Forum, as head coach Dusko Ivanovic was forced to adjust his rotation. The American guard was not sidelined by a knee issue, but by lingering effects of a contusive injury to his left wrist, sustained during the EuroLeague game against Hapoel Tel Aviv on December 12, 2025, as confirmed by the club.
Speaking after the game, Ivanovic addressed Morgan’s condition cautiously:
“Morgan? Tomorrow we’ll see what this pain in his hand is and how serious it is.”
Morgan underwent specialist medical examinations on Monday, December 15. Virtus Bologna are expected to provide an update on Tuesday, December 16, regarding his availability for the upcoming double EuroLeague road trip to Belgrade. The Bianconeri are set to face Partizan on December 17, followed by Red Star Belgrade on December 19.
The status of Morgan remains a key factor for Virtus, given his role as a high-impact scorer and secondary playmaker off the bench, especially ahead of two demanding EuroLeague matchups in one of the competition’s most challenging environments.
